Study Importance
Instructors for university courses use team assignments for several reasons: so students can learn from each other, take on a more complex project, and get practice for teamwork in jobs after graduation. The knowledge and skill that the team members bring to the project about the process of working together is as important to the quality of the final product as the knowledge they bring about the content. We want to examine the factors that impact that team process, including the value of training in teamwork. The results of the study will help determine whether training in teamwork should be offered to many students doing team projects across campus. Study Methods This research survey asks you about your experience in your student project team in a single course. We want to understand how the team process affects learning and performance. To capture your perceptions of your team experience, we will provide you with a survey link. Participation in the survey is voluntary and your results will be confidential. https://tamucehd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d6epaidkuUQTULr Completion of the 10 Team Training Modules (TTM) takes about five hours over two weeks and includes several multiple choice quizzes as a review of important points in the training. The content of the training includes concepts and examples relevant to work in industry. The result of the study (in progress) |
